Size

Finding the perfect size is essential for ensuring optimal comfort when wearing a piece of jewelry. Here is a simple and practical guide to help you take your measurements and find your size.

About rings

Practical tips

1. Your fingers can be slimmer in the morning and more swollen at the end of the day. For a more accurate measurement, take your measurements at the end of the day.

2. Wider rings can feel tighter. If you are purchasing a wide ring, consider going up half a size for extra comfort.

3. Caution: the size of your fingers may change from one hand to the other!

4. If it is a surprise for a loved one, we recommend:

  • to borrow one of the rings from the recipient,
  • to ensure that the ring is worn on the finger of the same hand as the one intended to receive the gift, and
  • to follow one or more of the options mentioned below.

5. Should you have any doubt, please feel free to contact us.

By appointment

Having your finger circumference measured by a professional is the most reliable option.

You can take advantage of an appointment with our team in Paris to find out or confirm your size. We will be able to measure your finger size using a ring sizer or, if it is a gift, take the measurement of the ring that you bring to us using a ring sizing stick.

Remotely

There are also different ways to determine the most suitable size remotely:

Method I

Ask a jeweler to measure your size

Because this is the most reliable technique, you can go to a jeweler near you and ask them to take the measurement of your finger or of the ring of the person receiving your gift.

Method II

Use a printable ring sizer

1. Download and print our ring sizer at 100% scale
(Verify the scale of your print with a ruler).
2. Take one of your rings (worn on the relevant finger) and place it on the circles to find the corresponding size.
3. When the circle just touches the inside of your ring, you have found your size!

Method III

Measure an existing ring

1. Select a ring that fits well and is worn on the same finger.
2. Use a caliper or, failing that, a ruler to measure the inside diameter of the ring (in millimeters) at the widest point.
3. Compare the diameter measurement with our size chart below to find your ring size.

Methods II and III above, which are not contractual, are meant to help you in confirming your finger size. Although very practical, they remain less precise than a measurement taken by a professional equipped with a ring sizer and a ring sizing stick.

Ring Resizing

Depending on the model, it may be considered to modify the size of a ring by one to three sizes. For certain specific models and for any more significant modification, resizing will not be possible and it will be necessary to make a new ring in the new required size in order not to weaken or damage the setting of your gemstones and the ring itself.

A simple resizing of your Semper Astra jewelry is offered within the limit of one (1) month following the date of purchase, it being understood that its completion will take approximately ten (10) days from the date of receipt of your ring by our workshop.

In this case, please send us a request by message by clicking on the Contact button or by sending us an e-mail to hello@semper-astra.com. If resizing is possible, we will invite you to return your ring to us at your expense in a secure envelope (Declared Value, FedEx, UPS or any other nationally/internationally renowned professional courier). Do not forget to insure your package! Once your ring is ready, it will be shipped to you.

Should a second resizing (or more) be required, the service will be charged €45. Its feasibility will be subject to the same restrictions and other conditions as those mentioned above.

In order to preserve the guarantee of your jewelry, we recommend that you do not call on a third party to carry out a resizing.
